Google's Gemini has a free plan, but there is also a paid plan called Google AI Pro, which gives you access to higher usage limits and additional AI features.

Google also has a referral program that allows eligible users to try Google AI Pro free for four months.

The referral option is currently available on my Google AI Pro account, and up to 10 people can receive the four-month free offer through my referral.

Compared with Claude's seven-day Guest Pass — which I'm also giving away on this blog — four months is a very generous trial period. If you have been interested in Google AI Pro but were not sure whether it was worth paying for, this is a good opportunity to try it for yourself.

In this article, I'll explain how the Google AI Pro referral offer works, who is eligible, what you can try during the free period, and how to request an invitation.

The short version

  • Google's referral offer gives eligible new users 4 months of Google AI Pro free — Gemini's more capable models, Deep Research, AI inside Google apps, and extra Google One storage
  • You must be new to Google AI Pro and in a region where Gemini is supported. It is a subscription, so check the free period, the price after the promotion, the next billing date, and the payment method on Google's signup screen
  • I can invite up to 10 people here. Send your email and intended use (in Japanese) via the form below; if slots remain, you'll get an invitation link

What Is the Google AI Pro 4-Month Referral Offer?

Some Google AI Pro members are given the option to invite other people to try Google AI Pro for free.

On my account, the referral offer gives eligible new users four months of Google AI Pro at no charge.

According to Google's referral terms, there is no limit to how many people you can send an invitation to, but only the first 10 eligible people can redeem the offer.

To qualify, the person receiving the invitation must be new to Google AI Pro and live in a country or region where Gemini is supported.

If you have previously subscribed to Google AI Pro, you may not be eligible.

The referral feature also does not appear for every Google AI Pro subscriber, so availability may depend on the account.

What Do You Get with Google AI Pro?

Google AI Pro is more than just a version of Gemini with higher limits.

Depending on the current plan benefits in your region, it can include expanded access to Gemini's more capable models, Deep Research, AI features inside Google services, and additional Google One storage.

If you already use Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, or other Google services, this is one of the main reasons Gemini can be especially useful.

The free version of Gemini is already capable enough for many everyday tasks, but once you start using it more heavily, usage limits and access to advanced features become more noticeable.

I have also written about using Gemini without paying: Getting Through a Full Month on Gemini's Free Plan Alone: Knowing the Limits and Reset Timing.

If you are not sure whether the paid plan is worth it, a four-month trial gives you plenty of time to compare the two.

What Should You Try During the Four Months?

Unlike Claude's seven-day Guest Pass, Google AI Pro gives you much more time to experiment.

You do not need to rush through every feature in a few days.

One of the first things worth trying is Gemini's more capable models and Deep Research.

For simple questions, the free version may already be enough. But when you start working with longer documents, research tasks, or more complex requests, the difference between the free and paid plans can become easier to notice.

If you use Google services for work, it is also worth testing Gemini inside the Google ecosystem.

For example, you may be able to use AI to help with emails, documents, research, and other everyday tasks without constantly switching between different tools.

That said, I would not assume that Gemini is automatically the best source for every Google-related question just because it is made by Google.

I wrote about that in Is Gemini Really the Best AI for Google Products? Why Claude Code Was Faster for Google Workspace. Fast-changing product information can still require checking the latest official documentation.

With four months available, you have enough time to find out where Gemini fits into your own workflow rather than judging it from a few quick prompts.

How Does Gemini Compare with ChatGPT and Claude?

ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini can all handle many of the same tasks now, including writing, summarizing, research, programming, and general questions.

I use all three rather than choosing only one.

Claude is currently one of the tools I use most for development because of Claude Code.

ChatGPT is useful across a wide range of tasks, including writing and image generation.

Gemini is particularly interesting if you already use Google products and want AI integrated into that environment.

There is no simple answer to which one is best.

In fact, I tested the free versions of ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini by giving all three the same 500 questions. The differences were not always in whether they could answer correctly, but in things such as usage limits and how they presented their responses. You can read that comparison in ChatGPT vs. Claude vs. Gemini Free Plans: What 500 Questions Revealed About Limits, Differences, and Which One to Choose.

If you already use ChatGPT or Claude, the four-month Google AI Pro offer is a good opportunity to give Gemini the same real-world tasks and compare the results for yourself.

How to Request a 4-Month Google AI Pro Invitation

I currently have referral availability for up to 10 people.

If you would like to receive an invitation, please use the form below. I only ask for:

  • Your email address
  • What you would like to use Gemini for

Please write your intended use and any message in Japanese. This referral is intended for people who can communicate with me in Japanese, so please submit the form in Japanese even if you are reading the English version of this article.

A short answer is completely fine, for example:

"仕事の資料作成に使ってみたいです。"
"GeminiのDeep Researchを試してみたいです。"
"プログラミングで使ってみたいです。"

If referral availability remains, I will send the invitation link to the email address you provide.

This referral is intended for people who can communicate in Japanese. Please write your intended use in Japanese, even on the English version of this article.
The information you submit is used only to send the invitation and for related communication. It is not shared with third parties. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Only the first 10 eligible users can redeem the offer, and Google makes the final eligibility decision — an invitation link does not guarantee your account will qualify.

Check the Price and Renewal Terms Before You Start

Google AI Pro is a subscription service.

When you redeem a promotional offer, make sure you carefully check the information shown on Google's signup screen, including the free period, the price after the promotion ends, the next billing date, and the payment method.

Promotional terms and Google AI Pro plan details can change over time, so the information shown by Google during signup should always take priority.

If you only want to use the free promotional period, make sure you understand the cancellation and renewal conditions before starting the trial.
